What I have learned this term

This semester I have learned about myself and my ability to write. In writing and life there is always room to grow.  In writing it is a process and as you become better at writing you start to notice a difference in how you use to write. This semester I have became aware on how to write for the web and how important the steps are for writing for the web.This semester was not easy with writing but it gave me the chance to be able to improve and get a lot of practice in writing. I have became aware of my mistakes in grammar and how important it is to correct your mistakes. Every one struggles in writing but I have learned that it is normal . In order to get better in writing I learned that I had to be bad before it became better.

College can get very stressful and depressing. Trying to get caught up on assignments and be able to manage everyday life along with other things is a lot of work and desires patience and courage. College is time to find yourself and be able to deal with real life situations. Between test and exams it is stressful each time you receive grades. Professors are human but they have important jobs to. Professors jobs are to teach us and help us find our way as well. Even though school and life gets hard only the strong survives. In college you also have to learn how to manage money and be able to take care of yourself. Taking care of yourself in college helps make bring you up to be a great adult and leader in life. It helps build character and the ability to do things that will help in the future.

Being a black girl

Being a black girl in America is a hard challenge. Being a girl is hard but being a black girl is even harder. Everyone say race does not matter and we are all human but you have to be that human being or be that person in their skin in order to understand how they are feeling and why they feel how they feel about everyday life situations. Race is just our skin color but it is indeed something that makes groups of people different. everyone is important regardless of their race, or gender but most black girls feel they are not because of what we see on the television. On the television we are always met with straight hair and blue eyes.Or certain figures that are seen as beautiful. Everyone is indeed beautiful but being a black girl it feels as if our beauty is not being projected on the television as much as other races.

Everyone is outraged about Kendall Jenner and the new Pepsi commercial

Kendall Jenner, one of the famous Kardashian sisters have recently sparked convroversy with her new role in the new Pepsi commercial. In the Commercial  she is seen coming through a crowd. Most people believe and  seen it as the black lives matter movement against police brutality in the black community. She then makes her way through the crowd and is met with a group of police on standby in front of the crowd. She then smiles  and hand one of the officers a Pepsi and greets him with a smile. The officer takes the drink and proceeds to drink it and stare into the camera. Pepsi at first felt that the commercial was sending a positive vibe but was later informed that the video was indeed disrespectful to the black lives matter movement and to kids regardless of their age or race  that have lost their lives to police brutality. Kendal Jenner then starts to feel bad and see the commercial as a big mistake.

The film Get Out hits $156 million dollars in sales

Today on April 3, 2017 the film Get Out has hit another major milestone at the box office. The film only cost 4.5 million to make and has made millions of  dollars more than what it took to make the film. Get Out is a 2017 American comedy horror film written, produced and directed by Jordan Peele, in his directorial debut. The film stars Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones, Stephen Root, Lakeith Stanfield and Catherine Keener, and follows a young interracial couple who visit the mysterious estate of the woman’s parents. The film shares light on the issue of race in families and the justice system.The film is a horror that has ups and downs along with comedy. The main character that is played by Daniel Kalyuuna struggles with the past of losing his mother to a horrible accident. In the film the young lady that he is dating mother uses that incident to haunt him and bring him into a sunken place that has him unable to control his body or his thoughts. In the film he ends up fighting for his life and his body.

Today April 1st makes 33years since Marvin Gaye’s death

Marvin Gaye was the face of music in the late 60s and early 70s. he is known for is perfect pitched voice and his legendary music that has touched everyone that has ever came across his music.He was fatally shot by his father, Marvin Gay, Sr. on April 1, 1984 at their house in the West Adams district of Los Angeles.Gaye was shot twice following an altercation with his father after he intervened in an argument between his parents. The wounds were fatal and he was pronounced dead on arrival at the California Hospital Medical Center. Gaye’s death inspired several musical tributes over the years including recollections of the incidents leading to his death. Gaye was given a burial plot at Forest Lawn Cemetery and was later cremated and his ashes spread around the Pacific Ocean. He is and will forever be the face of music to all generations of listeners to come.

Women that caused emmit till death admits she lied.

Emmett Till, was  a 14-year-old black boy from Chicago that died a horrific death at the hands of two white men after buying bubble gum while visiting racially segregated Mississippi in 1955.They beat, shot and disfigured his body beyond recognition – and walked free, acquitted at the hands of an all-white, all-male jury. His death is known as one of the most saddest and harsh deaths of its time period. His cause of death was whistling at a white women. At the time of his death there were a lot of crimes being made against black people. All crimes were either lies or crimes that did not make any sense. After all these years the lady finally confess that she lied and made the whole thing up.The woman, Carolyn Bryant, has lived in relative hiding for the last five decades, haunted by her past.She later goes on in a interview about how Mississippi handled the case and the death of of 14 year old Emmet Till.Several months later, the men admitted killing Emmett in an interview with Look Magazine, safe in the knowledge they were protected by double jeopardy laws and were paid $3,000 for sharing their story.
